There is currently a vacant role in the swimming club for a fundraising/sponsorship coordinator. If you have experience in this, or have some fresh ideas you'd like to try, then please speak to or email one of the committee. CLUB RECORDS

Updated 14/05/13
The attached records have now been updated to take account of results from the CMK Open Meet, the Regional Youth Championships and the Coventry Open Meet.  A dozen records have been broken, that I know about. Well done to all.  There may be others, so apologies if I have missed any, but I am awaiting claims.  As with the last update the new records are shown in red.

The records are for individual age groups from 8 year olds up to an Open category, for both short course and long course times. They have been compiled primarily with reference to the ASA rankings which date from 1997, but also include some older times for the Open age category where these had already been recorded by the Club. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of these it cannot be guaranteed and I would be pleased to address any queries that may arise in this regard, The records are up to date as of the end of March 2013, From this point forward I intend only to update them following the receipt of a "claim" on the a record, which should be sent to me, specifying the details of the event concerned and the new record time. I shall verify any claims received and update the Club Records accordingly. I hope that the swimmers will be keeping me busy
Ray Martin - Competition Secretary

[The intention is to add the records as a separate page, with the ability to make a claim...tba]

Please can you let us have your feedback about what you would like to see on a future website, Some really good feedback received so far ... please keep it coming!

Guidance for Supervision and Evacuation Policy

Please see the club's new Guidance for Supervision and Evacuation Policy - we are working towards achieving this as best practice and suggest parents make themselves aware of it and help us to reinforce this with the swimmers for their own safety. Link here

Fundraising
YOU can raise money for Maxwell by simply changing your buying habits. We are busy setting up an online swimshop. There will be a transition period while that is fully launched. In the meantime, when you buy anything from Proswimear, using this link, not only will you get a 10% discount but the Club will get paid a bonus. But - we will be clearing out our stock so while we are in transition were going to ask you to help us by checking if we might have it first. Thanks for understanding while we get it running.

Charity Swim in aid of Helen & Douglas House

Helen & Douglas House has the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and support their families. The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family. Our aim is to help every young person - aged from birth to 35 - who visits us from Oxfordshire and surrounding counties, live life to the full....even when that life is short.

Millie is 8 years old and swims with Maxwell Academy, and have just moved up to silver level. She lives with Mum, Dad and big sister, Hannah. A nice lady from Helen and Douglas House recently visited her school, St Mary’s in Fairford Leys near Aylesbury, to tell us about the work they do for poorly children.
Millie wants to raise money to help these children, as she knows what it is like to be poorly but get better. She just can't imagine what it would be like to be poorly and never get better.
Millie asked her Mum and Dad if she could raise some money for the children and they said "YES".
In collaboration with her swimming coach - Steve Aldred at The Maxwell Swimming Academy, Millie has decided she would like to do this by swimming 4,000m during the half term holiday.

Millie's 5 point challenge:
1.            1 reason............. To help poorly children
2.            2 houses ~ Helen & Douglas
3.            Raise £300  £450
4.            Swim 4,000m (2.48 miles)
5.            5 days to complete the challenge

Thank you for helping Millie help the poorly children
