Skill Development Squad
The Skill Development squad is for Swimmers aged 7 - 11 years who have gone beyond the Academy stage and who want to get involved in competitive swimming. The emphasis is on learning new swimming skills to
improve stroke technique, develop an understanding of “pace” and to develop stamina.
You must be prepared and willing to work hard in order to progress in this squad and initially you will be expected to attend a minimum of three training sessions a week. You will also be expected to compete in swimming galas, which you will be given information on
when the coaches feel you are ready. Committing yourself to these requirements is a condition of being in the squad.
