Maxwell Fun Day 2009

Saturday 8th August saw Maxwell’s first Summer Event and everyone had a fantastic time. We were very lucky to have a glorious sunny day and the children had a great time taking part in the games (especially the water slide!) and just playing in the grounds in the evening. It seems the best events turned out to be ‘water’ based - even if the game wasn’t quite MFD Water Slidesupposed to be “how quick can you soak the opposition and your coach”. It just goes to show that even when you take the swimmers out of the water you can’t take the water away from them.

There were over 200 adults and children there on the day, with over 10 teams competing, with Zoe Coll’s team taking first place. I understand Bill’s team are in training for next year already. To see the full finishing positions please see the results below.

The evening was rounded off with presentations to the swimmers for the Most Improved, Most Committed and HIghest Performance for each squad. To see details of the awards for this year please see below.

A special thank you must go to all of the people that made this day possible - the Fun Day Committee, the volunteers who helped run the events on the day, the cooks/servers, the DJs and all of the groups and organisations who helped sponsor the event by providing food and discounts on items.

Hundreds of photos were taken on the day - if you have any that we can use on the website can you please email them to webmaster@maxwellswimclub.org.
