Coach - Ian Blyth

Ian Blyth - Youth Coach

Ian is the lead coach to the Regional Youth Squad, which is the 2nd highest squad within Maxwell. He also coaches and teaches within the entire Academy structure, from Bronze through to Platinum.

Ian has been coaching at Maxwell since 1989 and he has produced numerous swimmers which have achieved Regional & National Age Group qualifying times, including producing a National Champion and other National medallists.

From his years of coaching at Maxwell he fully understands ‘what it takes’ to become a champion and the work that is needed to be done in getting there. His commitment to skill work and technique leaves all his swimmers in great shape, ready for the challenges ahead of them each season.

Many of the swimmers from the Regional Youth Squad go on to train with the Performance Squad thus reaching further levels under our Head Coach.

Ian also regularly swims himself and you can catch him giving the youngsters of the club a run for their money in the Masters section each weekday morning session!
